Smith’s dazzling abstract paintings and drawings are meticulous patterns inside other patterns, circles embedded in a grid like format. Nothing in these paintings seem random, but intricately calculated.
For me, Smith’s aesthetic is sheer sensory; pure, vibrant, visual ecstasy. Totally geometric-lite-brite-3d-puzzle-neon-freak– out–pixel-squiggly-zig-zag-stuck-in-a-worm hole-rainbow-cave– iron-on-pearl-beads-candy-necklace-vortex-of-wiggly-cellular-molecules-electrically-wiggling-in-rows-beneath-a-gaseous-swampy-surface.
