Leaves about 0 time to work in my studio.

Hi everyone. I’m tired. Really, really tired. It’s been about 5 almost 6 weeks since I have set foot in my studio and worked on paintings. I have been working, working, working everyday in the costume dept. for Cirque Du Soleil’s…

41 54“I initiated this series with a nostalgic notion of vintage photographic portraits and it has evolved over the past year. Most of the pieces begin by sharing the common denominator of a sepia toned abstract form. Using a mix of synthetic materials such as Yupo paper, Sharpie pens and acrylic inks, I embrace and push the limitations of non-traditional painting materials. This process has become an exciting vehicle to express contrasting form, contemporary content and movement.” Read more »

I am very drawn to Dunda’s precise brushwork and color choices. I find an aspect of beautiful solitude in his subject matter. Especially in the playful isolation of his painting entitled Landscape. Dunda’s work, though different, does remind me of Lora Fosberg paintings. Pictorially, I see a similarity in palette and line quality between the two painters’ work and a smart, somewhat wry humor.
