We love our friend Amanda! A Soft Sculptress extraordinaire! She makes gorilla’s out of old clothes and donated fabrics, constructs giant, soft and squishy stalactite caves dripping with color among many more chromatic, patterned, totally rad art installations. Amanda is a former Chicagoan now New Yorker and an all around awesome lady with lots of funky eye glasses We miss her here in the Windy City.
Amanda has a big community project she has proposed called The Future Phenomena Project. It is a one-day event that will cover the street-facing façade of a Greenpoint apartment building with a fabric structure using an oversized repeating chevron pattern. The structure will be built from fabric donated from both neighborhood residents and the NYC based recycling group Wearable Collections.
